Compound nouns


A compound noun  is formed  from two nouns or an adjective and a noun. traffic light ,   tin opener   ,          film star, sunglasses    , washing machine writing paper, There is no rule for compound noun. -compound nouns  are usually written as two words. table tennis      ,     alarm clock Some compound nouns are joined by Hyphen. baby-sitter    ,    mother-in- law  ,   sister-in-law

 PARTS OF SPEECH

Words are divided into 8 different classes.

They are  : Noun , Adjective , Pronoun , Verb , Adverb , Preposition , Conjunction , Interjection.

A noun is a word used as the name of person, place or thing.

-JAYAVARAMAN VII is a great king.

Angkor wat is in Siemreap.

The rose smells sweet.

The sun shines bright.

An Adjective is a word used to add the meaning of a noun.

-         She is a smart girl.

-         There are ten girls in this class.

A Pronoun is a word used instead of a noun.

-         Tommy is absent, because he is ill.

-         The books are where you left them.

A Verb is a word used to express an action or a state of being.

I opened the door.

Jenny is asleep.

An Adverb is a word used to add the meaning of a verb, an adjective, or another adverb to make the meaning fuller or more exact. Words that tell us how, when, or where action take place.

I spoke to you yesterday.

They lived there

-   Jenny ran quickly   

 A Preposition is word that used with a noun or a pronoun to show how the relationship of this word to other parts of the sentence, generally being placed in front of them.

The dog sat under the table.

Tommy came with me.

A Conjunction is a word that used to join words, phrases, or sentences together.

The cat and the dog.

He worked hard but he did not get rich.

He said that he worked because he liked it.

An Interjection is a word expresses some sudden strong feeling causing exclamation.

Verb to be form | រៀន​ពី​ការប្រើប្រាស់​កិរិយ៉ាសព្ទ័​ be

Most English verbs have 5 basic forms, but BE has 8 forms: BE, AM, ARE, IS, WAS, WERE, BEEN, .BEING.

It has eight different forms: be, am, is, are, was, were, being, been. The present simple and past simple tenses make more changes than those of other verbs.
